AYURVEDA

In Ayurveda “health” is defined as follows:

Samadoshah samagnish ca samadhatumalakriyah prasannatmendriyamanah svastha ity abhidyate.
“Health is when the digestive fire (agni) is in a balanced condition; the bodily humors (vata, pitta and kapha) are in equilibrium, the three waste products (urine, feces and sweat) are produced and eliminated normally, the seven bodily tissues (rasa, rakta, mamsa, meda, asthi, majja and shukra/artava) are functioning normally, and the mind, senses and consciousness are working harmoniously together.”
– Sushruta Sutrasthanam 15,41

AYURVEDA IS THE SCIENCE OF LIFE.

It consists of various therapeutic approaches relating to the human physiology. Each of these approaches, ranging from the simple lifestyle recommendations to directly focused treatment interventions, should be individually tailored to address the unique makeup of imbalances in a person's psychophysiology.

When the balance of these systems is disturbed disease or disorders begin. Vitiated doshas produce dullness in Agni (gastric or other fire) through which Ama (immature, undigested food substance) is caused. Ama dosha traveling in the body gets stuck and obstructs the channels of circulation and disease is caused. The intrinsic cause of disease is Ama. Panchakarma is best for removing Ama.

According to Ayurveda, every human being is a unique phenomenon of Cosmic Consciousness. The principle of biologic individuality is central to Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment. There is an unseen but well perceived link between mind and body exerting a deep and powerful influence over the body in terms of health and longevity. Disruption of homeostasis or immune mechanisms is the primary factor in the etiology of disease. Mental and emotional factors are critical to the development of these diseases.
